To create a personal email address for daily use, follow these steps:

  • Go to the Microsoft Outlook homepage, then click on Create a free account. This will open a new tab in your browser.
  • Enter your new email address in the field provided. You can choose the prefix and the domain name from the three free options offered by Outlook (@outlook.com, @outlook.fr, or @hotmail.com). Then click on Next.
  • Set your password. It should be unique and sufficiently complex to prevent unauthorized login attempts. Click on Next again.
  • Enter your personal information, including your first name, last name, date of birth, and country of residence. Click Next once more.
  • Complete the anti-bot test to confirm that you're a human (we certainly don't doubt it!). You just need to solve a simple riddle or visual test. Click Next.
  • On the last creation page, the email service will ask if you want to stay signed in. Respond by clicking Yes or No.
  • Final step: decide on the layout of your interface. It's up to you to choose the most suitable organization for your preferences and needs.

You can now use your common Outlook email address.

Create a professional email address  

To create a professional email address with Outlook, the steps are a bit more complex. Don't worry: simply follow this guide, and the process will be (almost) automatic.

You need to:

  • Go to the Microsoft 365 website, scroll down the menu, and click on Business. You can then choose the free version of Outlook or one of the two paid Outlook Business plans.
  • Enter the information related to your account, such as your username and email address, with a custom domain name for your business if you have one.
